John A. Sotirakis is a partner at Coritsidis, Sotirakis & Saketos PLLC. His practice is concentrated in Trusts, Estates, Elder Law planning, and Estate Administration. For over three decades, John has been assisting clients in achieving estate plans that enhance their and their families’ wealth plan, and in navigating the administration of loved ones’ estates.
John was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1975. He is also admitted to the Eastern and Southern Federal District Courts of New York. He began his career in litigation and has over 35 years of experience in matters ranging from estate litigation, civil litigation and matrimonial ligation. His practice also includes trials and appeals.
John makes it a point of placing himself in his clients’ shoes no matter their background, their age, their vocations or professions in order to understand the clients’ goals and challenges.
John is fluent in Greek and has contacts with Greek attorneys in Greece. As such, Coritsidis, Sotirakis & Saketos PLLC can help our clients with the administration of property inherited in Greece.
John has been active in both the Greek community as a former Member of the Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church school board, and a coach of parish basketball teams, as well as a soccer coach for young boys.
John received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from St. John’s Law School and his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from New York University Law School. He is a graduate of the City College of New York, a Member of Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He is a long-time presenter in estate planning. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association: Elder Law Divisions and Trusts and Estate’s Law Divisions, Queens Bar Association, Hellenic Lawyers Association as well as the Long Island City Lawyers Association.
John G. Saketos received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hofstra University School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1986. Mr. Saketos is also admitted in the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts of New York, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Saketos’ primary area of concentration is in commercial and residential lending, commercial leasing, real estate and business transactions. He has represented numerous sellers, purchasers, lenders and borrowers for the purchase and sale of commercial, single and multi-family properties, condominiums, cooperatives, financing and commercial leasing transactions.
John has handled complex structured financial issues for more than thirty years and has negotiated and authored detailed loan and security agreements for use in secured real estate loans, including residential, commercial and mixed-use properties, construction loans, revolving credit loans, short term loans, as well as loans with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development and various Industrial Development Agencies.
Mr. Saketos has served as President of the Hellenic Lawyers Association of New York. He is fluent in Greek.
Antonia T. Constantinou has diverse legal experience handling matters in areas of civil litigation, estate matters including: contested estate litigation, probate and estate administration proceedings, prenuptial or postnuptial agreements, contested and uncontested matrimonial actions. She also represents clients in the purchase and sale of real estate, along with the refinancing of their residential and commercial real estate. Ms. Constantinou also represents both landlords and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases. Clients often appreciate her candor and practical approach as she guides them through various negotiations.
Ms. Constantinou represents a number of private mortgage lenders, financial institutions and banks in complex commercial closings including construction loans. She takes a very hands on approach and handles each transaction from the issuance of a lender’s commitment through file clearance, drafting and exchanging closing documents, and funding. Her collaborative approach between all parties and organizations involved in each transaction leads to productive resolutions and successful closings.
Ms. Constantinou received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Fordham University and her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Rosemarie Aquilina. She is admitted to practice law in the States of New Jersey and New York.
Ms. Constantinou is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and the Hellenic Lawyers Association.
She is fluent in Greek.
Patricia Sotirakis is an associate attorney at Coritsidis Sotirakis & Saketos PLLC. Her focus is in Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning and Administration and Elder Law Planning. She also has experience in drafting and reviewing prenuptial agreements.
Patricia was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2015 and is also admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey. Ms. Sotirakis has acquired extensive trusts and estates experience in the preparation and review of wills, trusts, gift and estate tax returns.
Patricia enjoys working closely with her clients and their families to find a solution to their planning needs, whether their objectives include tax planning, medicaid eligibility or protecting a loved one with special needs. Additionally, she handles and has been involved in many contested and uncontested Surrogate’s Court proceedings, including probate, administration, guardianship and accounting proceedings.
Patricia Sotirakis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany, where she was a Presidential Scholar and a member of Beta Alpha Psi. She earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude from New York Law School, where she graduated in the top ten percent of her class and received the commencement awards for excellence in tax law and excellence in trusts and decedent’s estates. While in law school, Ms. Sotirakis was a member of the New York Law School Wills Clinic, where she provided estate planning services to clients referred by various not-for profit organizations. She was also a member of the Law School’s Center for Real Estate studies. She received Dean’s List and High Dean’s List Honors and was awarded scholarships from WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate and the Hellenic Lawyers Association of New York. Prior to attending law school, Patricia Sotirakis worked in public and private accounting.
